  • Join us in building a grassroots movement of parent leaders working for economic, racial and social justice for families. Community Organizing and Family Issues (COFI) builds the leadership, power and voice of low-income parents to fight for equity on behalf of their children and families. COFI is looking for experienced organizers for a range of positions. At least 2 years of organizing experience is required, and we are particularly looking for staff with 3-5 years of organizing experience. At COFI, Community Organizers work with parent leaders (mostly mothers and grandmothers) in Black and Brown communities across Illinois on leadership development, local organizing campaigns and larger public policy initiatives aimed at making policy and systems more equitable and responsive to the needs of all families.   • Since inception in 2006, Open Books has impacted tens of thousands of Chicagoans, primarily children (birth – 12th grade), through in- and out-of-school literacy programs and the provision of free books via an increasing number of channels.   • Instituto Del Progreso Latino is looking for an instructor to teach a part-time Spanish Secundaria class. This is similar to the Spanish GED classes with Spanish Grammar, and math, but we also include basic English.

    • Bilingual needed with at least a bachelor's degree, and experience teaching.

    • $25 per hour, but IDPL offers more depending on the person’s educational and teaching experience.

  • This is a part-time on-site role for an English Second Language Instructor.
